Sunny Deol on Ramayana

Sunny Deol will be seen playing a major role in the upcoming historical epic, Ramayana, alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash. Sunny is reportedly portraying Lord Hanuman, while Ranbir Kapoor will play Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi will portray Maa Sita, and Yash will be Raavana. Sunny was present at a college event yesterday when he shared some exciting details about Ramayana.

Talking about Nitesh Tiwari's directorial venture, Sunny Deol stated that Ramayana is being made in the same way as Hollywood movies Avatar and Planet of the Apes were made. He said, "Ramayana is a long project because they’re trying to create it like Avatar and Planet of the Apes. All those technicians are involved. The writer and director are very clear about how it needs to be and how the characters should be presented."

Sunny appeared very confident about the visual effects of the film, adding, "You will also witness special effects that will make you believe it genuinely happened rather than making you feel these are just special effects. To be honest, I’m very sure it’s going to be great, and I’m confident that everybody will love it."

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is a two-part series. Ramayana Part 1 will be released on Diwali 2026, while the second part, titled Ramayana Part 2, will hit cinemas on Diwali 2027.
