Two Netflix officials have been booked for allegedly hurting religious sentiments through their limited series A Suitable Boy.

An FIR has been registered against Monika Shergill, Vice President, Content (Netflix) and Ambika Khurana, Director, Public Policies (Netflix) in Madhya Pradesh, based on a complaint filed by Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha's national Secretary Gaurav Tiwari.

Before filing the complaint Tiwari had raised objection against a scene in the series, which shows a Muslim boy kissing a Hindu girl inside a temple, on Twitter. On the basis of his complaint, the two executives have been booked under Section 295 A of IPC.

Directed by Mira Nair, A Suitable Boy stars Tabu, Manoj Pahwa, Ishaan Khatter, Tanya Maniktala, Rasika Duggal and Ram Kapoor in lead roles.
