Subedar Joginder Singh is set against the background of the Sino-Indian War (1962) when India was attacked by China. In response to this sudden and unexpected attack, brave Indian soldiers carried out their duties quite gallantly. The Sikh Regiment 1 of the Indian Army was guarding the border of Tawang sector at Tongpen La, IB Ridge, Bum La against numerous Chinese enemies. Though heavily outnumbered by Chinese troops, Subedar Joginder Singh, the commander of 11th platoon of Delta Company, kept the morale of his men boosted. The Sikh soldiers stood strong against the Chinese attacks; though the number of Sikh soldiers being substantially depleted by each wave of enemy attack was increasing. Running out of ammunition and wounded, Subedar Joginder Singh didn’t back down and continued killing the enemies before finally succumbing to his wounds.
Directed by Simerjit Singh, Subedar Joginder Singh also stars Aditi Sharma and is slated to release on April 6 this year.
