Srinidhi Shetty auditioned for Sita's role In Ramayana:

KGF actress Srinidhi Shetty had auditioned for the role of Maa Sita in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. The casting team loved her footage, but she eventually lost the role to Sai Pallavi, who has nearly finished shooting for Ramayana Part One.

"Now that the shoot is underway, I can say it, I guess. Yes, I did meet and give a screen test. I remember preparing three scenes very well, and they received a great response; they loved it," she told Siddharth Kannan during an interview. 

She explained, "I had heard that Yash was a part of Ramayana, and at that time, KGF 2 had released, and the pairing was a hit; people loved it. In just a month or two, this happened (Ramayana audition). So, I was thinking, he will play Raavan, I will play Sita; we will be pitted against each other."

Srinidhi also shared her reaction to Sai Pallavi grabbing the role, stating, "I think Sai Pallavi is a fantastic choice. I would love to see her as Sita in the movie, and like I always say, when something works out well, when something doesn't, it is wonderful because you will have great doors opening for you."

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is a two-part series, scheduled to be released on Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Maa Sita, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, and KGF actor Yash as Raavana.
