The Uttar Pradesh Police visited actress Sonakshi Sinha’s Mumbai residence on Thursday in an attempt to record her statement in connection of a complaint that a Delhi-based event organiser had filed against the actress last year for allegedly not performing at an event despite accepting payment for the same.
In February, a case was registered under sections 420 (cheating) and 406 of IPC against the actor for allegedly accepting Rs 24 lakh, for a stage performance and then not turning up for the event. The event was scheduled to take place in September 2018.
Sonakshi took Twitter to release a statement about the same, she wrote,
“An event organiser who couldn’t live up to his commitment obviously thinks he can make a fast buck by maligning my crystal clear image in the press. There is full cooperation with the authorities from my end for the investigation to be conducted. Would request the media not to fan these bizarre claims of an unscrupulous man. Yours honestly and sincerely, Sonakshi Sinha.”
The Bollywood actress’ management agency has said, that the organiser was using the media to release false and manipulated facts and they even warned, that if they don’t stop at this, the actress and her team will be forced to take legal action against them.
However the actress was not at her Juhu home when the UP police visited her place with the assistance of policemen from the Juhu Police station on Thursday. The police team will reportedly visit her again on Friday.
