Sonakshi Sinha Kicks Ass In 'Akira' Trailer!

Sonakshi Sinha, who has mostly played a 'demure, desi' girl in her films, will be seen in an action-packed avatar for the very first time in Akira and the trailer of the film was unveiled today.

Starring Sonakshi as the central character, the trailer revolves around Akira, a feisty girl with a dark past from Jodhpur, who shifts to Mumbai for education and ends up locking horns with a corrupt cop, played by Anurag Kashyap. The trailer is full of raw action and some hard-hitting dialogues. Though Sonakshi impressed us with her action scenes, it was Anurag Kashyap, who sent a chill up our spines with his baddie avatar. The film also stars Konkona Sen Sharma as a police officer.

Directed by AR Murugadoss, Akira, which is the remake of Tamil flick Mouna Guru, is slated to hit theatres on September 2.
