Director Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionair is on an award winning spree. The film has just picked up some more awards this week at the San Diego Film Critics Society.

The film has picked up awards for AR Rahman, its music director, British Indian actor Dev Patel and child actor Ayush Mahesh Khedekar. This tale of an underdog has also won awards in other categories like Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Editing from the same society. The film's story is about an orphan from the slims of Mumbai, who goes on to win Rs 20 million on the gameshow, 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.' Actor Anil Kapoor has been much appreciated for his role in the film as the quizmaster. It seems that the role was first offered to Shah Rukh Khan by Boyle. But the superstar is reported to have kept the director waiting for more than four hours before turning down the role. Not that Anil is bothered by all of this. The film was also screened at the 5th annual International Film Festival, Dubai, last week.
