After a two-day delay, team Shershaah started shooting the second schedule of the Sidharth Malhotra starrer in Kargil from today.
Sid, who had left for the Valley on Monday, was supposed to start shooting from Wednesday however, the film got delayed due to the present situation in Kashmir. The Government of India revoked Article 370 on August 5 and since then, Kashmir is on high alert.
The government has imposed some restrictions due to security reasons and therefore, some heavy equipment and a few crew members of the movie got delayed. Their route to Kargil had to be diverted via Leh instead of Srinagar informed producer Shabbir Boxwala. He also informed that atmosphere is peaceful in Kargil.
Sid is playing the role of Kargil war hero, Captain Vikram Batra, who posthumously received India’s highest and most prestigious award for valour, the Param Vir Chakra for the grit and courage that he displayed during the 1999 War. He was often referred to as ‘'Shershah'’ (Lion King) in the intercepted messages of the Pakistan Army.
Directed by Vishnuvardhan, Shershaah also stars Kiara Advani and Rakul Preet in the lead roles.
