EXCLUSIVE: "I am a huge fan of Akshay Kumar bhai; his sense of comedy & timing is outstanding" – Shreyas Talpade on Housefull 5 and Welcome 3

Shreyas Talpade Exclusive interview:

Shreyas Talpade will have multiple releases in 2025, and most of them are big movies. He will be seen sharing the screen with Akshay Kumar in two big comedy franchises of Bollywood, Housefull 5 and Welcome 3. The actor recently spoke to Movie Talkies to share his experience of working with Akshay Kumar in these movies. Read excerpts below.

Q. You are part of two of the most awaited comedy franchises, Housefull 5 and Welcome 3. How would you define comedy in both films, and how are they different from each other?  

Shreyas: Housefull 5 and Welcome Part 3 are two continuations of two of the most loved franchises in our country. I am very happy and proud to be associated with both of them. Of course, the storylines are completely different, but in many places, there are numerous similarities, as both feature a huge cast of fabulous actors who excel at comedy. I think the second similarity is that both are extremely good entertainers. From what we have shot, I am sure it's going to be a rollercoaster ride for everyone. We are looking forward to these comedies; we were missing them. Now that they are coming back, the comedies are here, and I am part of both.

Q. You will be sharing a screen with Akshay Kumar, who has the best comic timing in Bollywood. Will it be tough for you to share comedy scenes with him?

Shreyas: I am a huge fan of Akki bhai. I think his sense of comedy and timing is outstanding. The best part about him is that his hunger to do something better and give something to the audience is still intact. What he does with other actors is make sure that they are equally alert and on their toes because he keeps thinking about things and improvising every now and then. That is the best part about him, and that can definitely be tough or challenging for actors due to the passion he still has for every film and the energy he possesses. Yes, it is tough, but it is always a pleasure to share the screen with him and work with him because of the value he keeps adding.

Q. What else is in store for you in 2025?

Shreyas: It begins with Emergency in 2025, and then there’s Housefull 5, Baaghi 4, and one more film that we are working on. Hopefully, that should also be released this year. So, I am just taking one day at a time and am extremely grateful for whatever has come my way.
