Shocking: Omung Kumar Did Not Know Who Mary Kom Was

Omung Kumar, the film-maker of one of the highly awaited biopics Mary Kom has made a shocking revelation. He had no idea who Mary Kom was while he was hunting for scripts. He suggested his writer to come up with a female oriented subject for his next film.

His writer suggested the name Mary Kom which astounded Omung, as he had no idea who she was. It was only after the writer informed him about her struggle and her victories that Omung gave a green signal to the project.

Not only this but the former art director even travelled all the way to Manipur to meet the Olympian pugilist. Starring Priyanka Chopra in the title role and Darshan Kumar, Mary Kom is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and all set to release on 5th September.
