Popular television actress, Shilpa Shinde, who was the original Angoori Devi of the much-loved show Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai, has filed a sexual harassment case against the show's producer, Sanjay Kohli.
Shilpa filed an FIR against Kohli, at the Waliv Police Station in Vasai, for trying to take advantage of her. She also stated that he used to call her ‘sexy'. Reportedly, her FIR reads, ''In the past year, I battled depression and medical issues. I spoke out since it was getting to me. I know many women from the industry are afraid to speak up, but I want to, on their behalf."
''Once make-up man Pinku Patwa saw him harassing me. Pinku was sacked the next day. When I spurned his advances, he sacked me from the show,'' she stated in the FIR.
Shilpa also told a leading tabloid that she went to the police station thrice with her lawyers however, the cops were ‘indifferent and insensitive' to her.
Shinde left the show last year after she accused the makers of mentally harassing her. Post her exit, the makers sent her a legal notice and sued her for Rs.12.5 crore because of the losses incurred due to her absence. However, Shilpa claims that the makers still owe her Rs. 35 lakh.
