Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan Trust To Donate Rs. 11 Lakhs For Sudhir Dalvi Treatment:
Veteran actor Sudhir Dalvi, best known for his iconic portrayal of Sai Baba in the 1977 film Shirdi Ke Sai Baba, has been granted a major reprieve in his fight against a life-threatening illness. On December 4, 2025, the Bombay High Court’s Aurangabad Bench approved a request by the Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan Trust to disburse ₹11 lakh towards Dalvi’s ongoing medical treatment.
Dalvi, now 86, was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in early October after he contracted severe sepsis, a serious infection that doctors warned could be fatal without prolonged intensive care. His family had already spent over ₹10 lakh on treatment, with estimates suggesting the total bill could climb to ₹15 lakh. As medical costs mounted, the family appealed publicly for financial support from the film fraternity and fans.

Under existing legal norms, the Trust had to seek the High Court’s permission before releasing funds beyond a certain threshold. In its ruling, the court accepted a fresh affidavit detailing Dalvi’s condition and financial status, and recognised that providing support aligned with the Trust’s humanitarian mandate under the Shree Sai Baba Sansthan Trust (Shirdi) Act, 2004.
Dalvi’s portrayal of Sai Baba remains a defining performance in Indian cinema — decades later, audiences still associate him with the spiritual icon. With this financial assistance, there is renewed hope that he will receive the care needed in this critical phase.
