Shilpa Shetty-Raj Kundra Booked For Rs. 60 Crore Fraud:
Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, have been booked by Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in a high-profile fraud case involving over ₹60 crore.
The complaint, lodged by a Mumbai businessman, revolves around a loan-cum-investment deal tied to their now-defunct company, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd. An unnamed third party has also been named in the FIR.

According to the complaint, between 2015 and 2023, the couple sought a ₹75 crore loan at a 12% interest rate. It was later represented as an "investment" to secure tax benefits, accompanied by promises of monthly returns and full repayment of principal. Despite these assurances, the company collapsed in 2017 and failed to fulfill its obligations.
Their legal team has responded promptly, asserting that there is no criminal liability. According to their lawyer, Advocate Prashant Patil, the matter pertains to an “old transaction” already adjudicated by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) in October 2024. He stressed that all supporting documents, including cash flow statements, have been shared with authorities and that the couple intends to fully cooperate with the EOW.
As the investigation progresses, people awaits further developments. Raj Kundra has faced legal trouble before, most notably in 2021 when he was arrested in connection with an alleged pornography production and distribution racket. He spent over two months in custody before being granted bail, and has consistently denied all allegations. In 2013, his name also surfaced in the IPL spot-fixing scandal, leading to a lifetime ban from cricket-related activities by the BCCI.
