Shaukeen's Remake Is Now Titled 'The Shaukeens'

The remake of the 1980's cult classic film Shaukeen has been now renamed as The Shaukeens. The remake starring Akshay Kumar and Lisa Haydon went on floors recently and that's when the makers decided to rename the film.

The producer Murad Khetani believes that while it is a remake, the story has been changed and modified to make it more relevant to the modern times. The  original Shaukeen had Utpal Dutt, A K Hangal and Ashok Kumar playing lecherous old men who decide to go on a trip to Goa and meet the hot looking Rati Agnihotri. The trio decide to impress the young girl unaware of the fact that she is the girlfriend of their driver Mithun Chakraborty.

The Shaukeens, however, will star Anupam Kher, Paresh Rawal and Annu Kapoor in the role of  the three old men and Akshay Kumar will play the role of a driver and Lisa will play Rati's role. The film directed by Abhishek Sharma is slated to release on 7th November.
