Acclaimed filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, who had earlier made a trilogy on Shakespearean tragedies- Maqbool (Macbeth), Omkara (Othello) and Haider (2014), will make a comeback to Shakespeare’s plays with his next project, we hear.
Sources claim that this time, Bhardwaj is gearing up to make an adaptation of Shakespeare’s comedy ‘Twelfth Night’, which is a comedy. If this happens, it will be the first time that Bhardwaj will take up a Shakespearean comedy and we have heard that the filmmaker has Priyanka Chopra in mind for the lead role. for those who are not aware of this, the play centres on the twins Viola and Sebastian, who are separated in a shipwreck. Viola (who is disguised as Cesario) falls in love with Duke Orsino, who in turn is in love with the Countess Olivia. Upon meeting Viola, Countess Olivia falls in love with her thinking she is a man.
Presently the director is working on his film Churiyan with actors Sanya Malhotra and Radhika Madan.
