Shahid Kapoor, who was looking forward to work with ace filmmaker Karan Johar, may have to wait a little longer for his wish to fulfill.
Shahid, who will soon be seen in Tamil hit Vettai's remake, had earlier suggested Dharma Productions to co-produce the film along with UTV. The two production houses agreed however, things didn't work out.
Giving details about this latest development a source was quoted saying, "Shahid had earlier committed to a film with Karan Johar, which was to be directed by Punit Malhotra but it did not happen due to certain reasons. With Shahid keen to work with Karan as that's one banner that has eluded him so far, things seemed to fall in place when UTV came up with a proposal to remake Vettai and Shahid suggested KJo co-produce it. UTV and KJo were planning to work out the details of a joint production. However, now it seems the deal is not working out."
"Karan is already doing a co-production with Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms. He does not want to do another co-production. He has a long-standing relationship with UTV and does not want to hamper it. Besides, he is busy with his own directorial venture Student Of The Year. However there are no ill-feelings between them and UTV is associated with Dharma Productions in other ventures," the source further added.
