Cocktail (2012) is finally having a sequel, Cocktail 2, and as expected, we have a new pair this time. Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor will be seen playing the lead role in this sequel, while Rashmika Mandanna has been roped in to play the leading lady. So, it's a new romantic pair in Bollywood.

According to a report from Peeping Moon, Rashmika will be romancing Shahid in Cocktail 2. The shoot will begin soon as producer Dinesh Vijan is finalizing a few other details. The film will offer a new take on dynamic relationships and friendships and will have a modern touch. Earlier, Rashmika Mandanna and Shahid Kapoor were reportedly paired in Anees Bazmee's film, but there is no concrete update on that.

Cocktail (2012) was directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Eros International, Illuminati Films, and Maddock Films. The film starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty in the lead roles. Made on a budget of 50 crore, the romantic comedy earned Rs. 74 crore in India and emerged as a box office hit, aided by superhit music. Will Cocktail 2 achieve the same success?

Shahid Kapoor's last film with Maddock, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, was an average grosser at the box office, while Rashmika Mandanna is currently shooting for the horror-comedy Thama with Ayushmann Khurrana, produced by the same banner.
