Shahid Kapoor: 'Haider is a thinking man's hero'

Shahid Kapoor, who will be next seen in Vishal Bhardwaj's Haider, which is the adaptation of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, recently shared some details about the character that he would play in the film.

Talking about his role in the film, Shahid said, ''Haider is not a typical Bollywood-ish hero, who bounces back on his feet after a tragedy and starts punching people to resolve issues. The character is quite complex and is sensitive and vulnerable too. I would say Haider is a thinking man's hero.''

Apart from Shahid, Haider also stars Shraddha Kapoor, Tabu, Irrfan Khan and Kay Kay Menon in lead roles. The film, which is set against the backdrop of the political turmoil in Kashmir, is slated to release on October 2.
