As per the latest reports, a few filmmakers have reached out to Shah Rukh to buy the exclusive rights of Kundan Shah directed, 1994 cult classic film, ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa‘ which had Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. A source revealed, that Shah Rukh Khan holds the exclusive rights of Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and in the last few months, several filmmakers have approached his production house to buy the rights for remaking the cult classic. Another source tells us, that Shah Rukh and his team might make ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa’ again for the web. There are also talks about making a digital series on the same plotline as the movie. As a popular OTT platform has also shown keen interest in the same, though the actor won’t star in its remake which is expected to have a younger cast but an informer close to the development tells us, that although discussions are on about the project but nothing has been locked right now. As the production house is still contemplating what to do but they are also interested in exploring the space for sure.
The cult film of the superstar also had Suchitra Krishnamurthy and Deepak Tijori in lead roles which revolved around a love triangle with Shah Rukh playing the anti-hero with elan. Only time will tell us whether ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa’ will be remade in Bollywood or will be revisited through a web series.
