Almost two decades back, it was Shah Rukh Khan's 'Chaiyaa Chaiyaa' from Dil Se that had made a splash. The song has managed a cult status over the years not just due to fantastic music by A.R. Rahman but also due to the manner in which it was choreographed and picturised. Now in Rangoon, Kangana Ranaut could pretty much be hoping that her Tippa manages similar response as well, what with her dance atop the train finding good attention coming its way.
"Of course you don't plan for such things, they just happen," says a source attached to Kaabil, "Just like Dil Se, even Rangoon has a situation when the protagonist needs to be on a train journey. The common factor though is a ride amidst the hills; that just adds on to the scenic beauty."
In Rangoon, the sequence involved Kangana Ranaut taking a train journey towards the North East with Shahid Kapoor as her companion. Even though Shahid is seen in a rather serious avtar right through 'Tippa', Kangana - who is a tad annoyed to begins with - opens up soon enough once those close to her peg her to dance to the rhythm.
"As always, it is the magic of Gulzar's lyrics doing the trick for Vishal Bhardwaj's music," the source adds, "Together, they are superb. Once producer Sajid Nadiadwala heard the tone, he was sure that 'Tippa' had to be highlight of the film. He wanted the song to be truly special with no expense spared. He got all the permissions in place to have the train being booked for the song, and for also Kangana and other dancers to dance atop it. The result is there for all to see."
With the song-n-dance number turning out to be special indeed, one now waits to see the kind of distance that it manages to cover in time to come. 'Chaiyaa Chaiyaa' is a song which is much remembered and loved, and now 'Tippa' is pretty much looking at fetching its own audience as well once Rangoon releases all over on 24th February.
