After shooting for a pivotal cameo in Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan starrer starrer Brahmastra, Shah Rukh Khan will be seen doing another special cameo in friend Karan Johar’s Shershaah. The film starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, is a biopic, which is based on Param Vir Chakra recipient Captain Vikram Batra.
Captain Batra had posthumously received India’s highest and most prestigious award for valour, the Param Vir Chakra for the grit and courage that he displayed during the 1999 Kargil War. He was often referred to as ‘’Shershaah’’ (Lion King) in the intercepted messages of the Pakistan Army.
Reportedly Shah Rukh has done a cameo in Shershaah in a very hush-hush manner, as the makers wanted to announce it at their own time. In the biopic Sidharth Malhotra will be seen playing a double role, as Captain Batra and his identical twin brother Vishal. Kiara Advani in the film will be seen portraying Captain Batra’s fiancée Dimple Cheema. As per reports Shah Rukh has a small role to play in the film, in terms of screen space, but it is said to be a very significant role in the movie and in Captain Batra’s life. SRK’s character is a strong one, who shapes Captain Batra’s life in important ways, from his early life to his military career and in the Kargil war
Reportedly Karan Johar who is producing the film, wanted a top actor to play this pivotal role in the film, and when KJo took the role to SRK, he gave an immediate nod to the film.
Directed by Vishnuvardhan, Shershaah is co-produced by Karan Johar and Shabbir Boxwala. The film is slated to release on 3rd July 2020.
