With Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan now has the most opening weekend records for any Bollywood actor since 1990. The superstar also has the most number of record opening days (8 times), with Jawan and Pathaan adding two names to both lists.
Jawan is the 10th movie by SRK to break the opening weekend record. With this, he has now overtaken Salman Khan in the list, who has 9 record opening weekends to his name. However, Shah Rukh Khan has done fewer films than Salman Khan, which makes this record much bigger. Interestingly, both have one common film (Karan Arjun) to share the record, excluding cameos.
Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan is on the third spot with 4 films: Fanaa, Ghajini, 3 Idiots, and Dhoom 3—all coming in the multiplex era. The new era superstar, Hrithik Roshan, grabs the fourth spot with 3 films: Mission Kashmir, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and Dhoom 2.Ranbir Kapoor has two films, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and Sanju, and both were non-holiday releases. Sunny Deol too has two films, Border and Indian (in clash).
