Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge released 25 years ago today and it brought about a revolution in Bollywood. Today it's not just a movie, it's an emotion and as the film completes 25 years today, its cast and crew members celebrated its silver jubilee.

Shah Rukh Khan shared a video of DDLJ and captioned it, "25 years!!! Filled with gratitude towards you for loving Raj & Simran, with all your heart. This always feels special. #DDLJ25 @yrf."

Kajol wrote, "Raj & Simran! 2 people, 1 film, 25 years and the love doesn't stop coming in! I am truly grateful to all the people who made it what it is today.. a phenomenon and a part of their own history. The fans! Big shoutout to all of you."

Karan Johar, who had assisted Aditya Chopra and also had a special appearance in the movie, stated, "DDLJ is so so special to me and will always be....it was my training ground ....I have indelible memories of our times on set....the film has achieved the status of being a legendary love story and I am so proud that I was a tiny part of this beautiful film! Thank you Adi for all my learning’s and all the memories..."

Farah Khan, who had choreographed Ruk Ja O Dil Deewane, wrote, "Can’t believe its #25YearsOfDDLJ though i did just this 1 song in the film its a huge part of my repertoire. Thank you @yrf n #AdityaChopra 4 including me in the silver anniversary.. not many include the technicians."

In 2001, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge overtook Sholay (1975), which had run for over five years at the Minerva theatre, as the longest-running film in Indian cinema history. It has been showing at the Maratha Mandir theatre since its original release in 1995.
