Shah Rukh Khan - Kajol Event in London cancelled:

London's famous Leicester Square had planned to unveil the statue of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in their iconic pose from the celebrated blockbuster, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, this week. However, amid the ongoing war conflicts between India and Pakistan, the event has been called off.

The statue of SRK and Kajol will become part of Leicester Square’s “Scenes in the Square” trail, which includes other famous figures such as Harry Potter, Gene Kelly, Mary Poppins, and Batman. 

Recently, Shah Rukh Khan attended the famous fashion event Met Gala 2025 and, instead of going to this statue unveiling ceremony, he returned home last evening. The production house, Yash Raj Films, had already informed the members of Leicester Square, who understood the matter and cancelled the event.

The team has been planning this statue unveiling event for five years and zeroed in on this date to mark the 30th anniversary celebration of the film. “It’s fantastic to have the opportunity to add to our trail Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, who are such titans of international cinema. The statue is a fitting tribute to the global popularity of Bollywood and a celebration of London’s rich diversity," said Mark Williams, deputy chief executive at Heart of London Business Alliance, at the time of the announcement in April 2025.
