Don 3 has been one of Bollywood’s most talked-about yet elusive projects for over a decade. After the release of Don 2 in 2011, expectations were high for a sequel with Shah Rukh Khan reprising his iconic role. However, despite years of speculation, the project never moved forward with him. Over time, the franchise became a hotbed of rumours, with several big names being linked and then quietly exiting the conversation.

In recent years, Ranveer Singh was offically onboard to headline Don 3, generating fresh buzz around Farhan Akhtar’s much-loved franchise. But after a prolonged period of uncertainty, Ranveer too walked away from the project, once again putting Don 3 in limbo. Soon after, rumours began circulating that Hrithik Roshan would step in as the new Don. However, these reports were firmly denied, with confirmations that Hrithik is not associated with the film in any capacity.

The speculation didn’t stop there. Fresh chatter suggested that Shah Rukh Khan might return to the franchise that he helped redefine for a new generation. That, too, has now been clarified as completely false. Adding another layer to the rumour mill was the claim that Atlee, who recently collaborated with SRK on Jawan, would direct Don 3. This report has also been busted by the team.

As it stands, Don 3 has no confirmed lead actor and no new director attached beyond Farhan Akhtar’s original association. There is no Shah Rukh Khan, no Ranveer Singh, no Hrithik Roshan, and no Atlee involved in the project at present. Farhan Akhtar is reportedly still on the lookout for the right face to take the franchise forward.
