EXCLUSIVE: "I will consciously strive to elevate the mass screen presence of Salman Khan in Sikandar," says Santhosh Narayanan

The Sikandar teaser featuring Salman Khan was released last week on Salman's birthday. The background score in the teaser has been receiving an overwhelming response from the fans. The score, composed by Santhosh Narayanan, who recently gained acclaim for his work in Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD, is at the center of attention. We had a brief conversation with Santhosh sir about his work process and experience with the Sikandar team; here’s what he shared.

Q. Sikandar's BGM is receiving an overwhelming response. How do you feel about that?
Santhosh Narayanan: I am filled with gratitude and incredibly thankful that the music is connecting with the audience. This is my first Bollywood film, and it feels like an absolute dream.

Q. How was it composing the score while keeping Salman Khan and the story in mind?  
Santhosh Narayanan: I usually try to align the score and songs as closely as possible with the script. In Sikandar, Murugadoss sir has brilliantly woven the persona of Salman Khan and the character he is portraying. This has given me the freedom to go epic with the scoring whenever needed. I will make a conscious effort to elevate the mass screen presence of the character played by Salman sir.

Q. How was working with the team, Salman, and ARM?  
Santhosh Narayanan: It is an absolute privilege. Salman sir is consistently motivating and so much fun to work with. Murugadoss sir is a legend from my state of Tamil Nadu and has been giving me very specific input on what he needs for Sikandar.

Directed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar stars Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandanna, Prateik Babbar, Sathyaraj, and others. The film is set for an Eid 2025 release.
