Sanjay Leela Bhansali Hopes To Make 'Heera Mandi' With Rani Mukerji

It had been reported a while ago that Sanjay Leela Bhansali was planning to make a film titled Heera Mandi, after Lahore's red-light district. The project did not take off as the filmmaker could not find a suitable actress to play the lead. Sources reveal that Bhansali is keen to have Rani Mukerji play the leading role.

The director was recently quoted saying that he is busy with Ram Leela, starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, and four other productions. He said that he will take a call once he is done with Ram Leela. He added that if things work out, he and Rani will definitely work together.

Rani and Bhansali have worked together in the 2005 film, Black, and the 2007 film, Saawariya.
