British origin actor Gavin Packard, who was known for introducing the then lanky Sanjay Dutt to bodybuilding and playing the baddie henchman in most action films in the 90s, passed away recently at the age of 48 due to respiratory disorders at a nursing centre in Vashi. The green-eyed actor was known for his negative roles in blockbuster films like Sadak, Tridev, Karan Arjun and Mohra, to name a few.
On getting to know about his demise, his co-stars Suniel Shetty and Sanjay Dutt expressed grief at the actor's passing away. Suniel Shetty, who had worked with him in Mohra, was quoted saying, "It makes me very sad to learn about Gavin's death. He was a part of all my initial films. In fact, he was the one who got Sanjay Dutt into body-building. Though he was a good human being, he was too nice to demand money from producers for his work and at the end of the day, it became a hand to mouth existence for him. We used to train together a lot and when it came to bodybuilding, he was a pioneer he knew exactly every muscle and food intake. Any action film you say, he was there."
On his part, Sanjay Dutt was quoted saying, "He was like a brother to me. He introduced me to bodybuilding. I am a godfather to his daughters also. I will pray for his peace and I am always there for his family always. God bless his soul."
