Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga appears to be in no mood to slow down. Despite earlier reports suggesting a pause at year-end, the director has decided to continue filming Spirit through the New Year’s week, signalling an accelerated roadmap for the much-anticipated cop actioner led by Prabhas.

In November, it was reported that Spirit would wrap its first shooting schedule by December-end before breaking for the New Year. However, with Vanga now eyeing a mid-2027 release instead of December 2027, the production timeline has been revised. According to sources, the team has called off the planned holiday break to maintain momentum.

A source informed mid-day, “Spirit kicked off on November 27 in Hyderabad, and the team will shoot till the first week of January before taking a break. The New Year’s break has been called off.” The decision underlines the director’s intent to complete substantial portions of the film early, allowing ample time for post-production on what is expected to be a technically ambitious project.

Starring Prabhas as a fierce cop, Spirit marks his first collaboration with Vanga and is already one of the most talked-about films in development. Triptii Dimri, who has been steadily rising with varied performances, plays the female lead, while Vivek Oberoi is said to have a pivotal role in the narrative.

Industry insiders suggest that the extended first schedule will focus on crucial character-establishing portions and high-impact sequences.
