Former Bollywood actress Sana Khan has strongly responded to online rumours suggesting her husband, Mufti Anas Sayed, “brainwashed” her into quitting the film industry. Sana, who became well-known after her stint on Bigg Boss 6 and roles in films like Jai Ho and Toilet Ek Prem Katha, left Bollywood in 2020 to focus on her faith and personal life.

In a recent interview with actress Rashami Desai, Sana addressed the speculation directly. She said her decision to leave showbiz was her own choice, rooted in a deep personal transformation and desire for peace, not pressure from her husband. She explained that major changes were happening in her life at that time and that the path she chose was something she truly wanted for herself.

Sana emphasised that while her husband guided her spiritually, no one can brainwash a person unless they want to follow a certain direction. “Nobody can brainwash you; it’s never like that,” she said, noting that even though fame, money and recognition are important to many, inner peace was her priority.

She also shared that her marriage was kept very private, known only to her parents initially, and that even her extended family learned about it later. Sana expressed strong appreciation for her husband and said she could not have found a better partner.
