Sana Khan on Wajah Tum Ho - "My court scene is like the one that Sunny Deol had in Damini"

She had a cameo in Salman Khan's Jai Ho but post that decided to wait for a big Bollywood opportunity before moving on to her next. This came in the form of Wajah Tum Ho where she has a pivotal part to play. While she has given a good account of herself as an actor, she hasn't shied away from bringing on the oomph quotient for screen. Attributing it to the demand of the film and pretty much acknowledging that there is no big deal about it all, Sana Khan has managed to make heads turn right from the time the promo of the film was launched to the day when it eventually released on the big screen.

Wajah Tum Ho has released and as is apparent, it has the right mix of erotic and thrilling elements. As an actor how did you approach this form of storytelling?

Pick up any film of (director) Vishal Pandya and if there is any kissing or love making, it is just in the songs. Aisa nahi hai ki poori film mein bas yahi kar rahe hain. Songs are the USP of Wajah Tum Ho in order to get people to theaters. If you are right with the music then 50% of audience apne aap aa jaati hai. That is one thing that works. I remember going and watching Tashan thrice because I wanted to watch the song Chhaliya. When a filmmaker decides on any storytelling, it is done from the point of view of a viewer. Aakhir unhe ghar par baithkar picture nahi dekhni nahi hai. It is a fab film. Thoda erotic hai but theek hai.

The film has been rated 'Adults only' though.

Yes, the film is ‘A’ rated but it is not just because of songs but also because of elements like hacking, which is illegal. Vishal has done survey on hacking and has asked people if this kind of hacking that we have shown in the film is actually possible to be done. We were told that satellite hacking is possible. There is a lot of research that went behind it. It is a very high tech thing that is difficult to achieve. People talk about bringing new content in Bollywood and Vishal has actually done something that has not been shown even in Hollywood. Ab kissing toh har film mein hoti hai lekin people should notice our concept and content.

Meanwhile, you had a challenging role to play to a top-shot layer in the film. It must have given you a high, right?

Honestly I feel that when people wear any uniform, be it that of a lawyer or a cop or a pilot, they look freaking hot. That power and confidence comes from the costume itself. In the suit of a lawyer, I could further accentuate the strong personality of my character. It all came together well from mind, body and face. When lawyers fight then they look fierce, yet good. That is the appeal of mine as well as Gurmeet's character in the film. We both have great lines in there and we don't drag any scene.

So which scene turned out to be the most memorable for you?

I have one scene in the court that has so much of fire. It was like that in Damini where Sunny Deol stole the show. Here in Wajah Tum Ho, Gurmeet and I are arguing in the court and our dialogues are just kick- ass. I am a very director's actor. Even in my South films or Jai Ho where I had a cameo, I executed my director's vision. I don't know how to do homework at home. I am a very spontaneous actor and not the kind who prepares for a scene a day before the shot. The moment my director explains what I am supposed to do, this is exactly when I start working on it. This is exactly what I did for this court scene. The entire execution of this has been so beautiful. I gave my all for it!
