Salman Khan Wins Legal Case Against Abhinav Kashyap:

Bollywood star Salman Khan has won an important legal battle against filmmaker Abhinav Kashyap in a civil court in Mumbai. On January 30, a city court temporarily barred Kashyap and others from making any public comments about Salman Khan and his family that could be “defamatory, derogatory, abusive or insulting.”

The decision came after Khan filed a defamation lawsuit against Kashyap over a series of interviews and podcasts where the director allegedly made offensive remarks about the actor and his relatives.

According to the court order, Kashyap and others named in the suit are restrained from publishing, posting, or sharing any further derogatory content against Salman Khan or his family on social media, podcasts, video platforms, or in interviews until they file a response in court. The judge noted that while freedom of speech is protected, it does not allow abusive or threatening language against an individual. 

The lawsuit highlights that between September and December 2025, around 26 video interviews and podcasts were released where Kashyap allegedly made “scandalous” statements about Khan and his family’s character and professional conduct. The actor has also sought ₹9 crore in damages as part of the civil case.

This court order is an interim relief for Salman Khan. The case will continue in court, where a final decision on permanent restrictions and damages will be considered later. In the meantime, Kashyap must follow the court’s instructions and refrain from further public comments about the issue.
