Salman Khan to play Bikumalla Santosh Babu:

Salman Khan is preparing for his next film after Sikandar, based on the Galwan Valley clash of 2020. The film will be directed by Apoorva Lakhia and is set to begin filming in July 2025. According to a recent report in MidDay, it is revealed that Khan will take on the role of Mahavir Chakra recipient Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu in this war action drama. 

"Colonel Babu’s character is heroic. He proved his mettle in several counter-insurgency and infiltration operations. The director has acquired the rights to the first chapter titled I Had Never Seen Such Fierce Fighting — The Galwan Clash of June 2020. It is a firsthand account of the 2020 clash in the Galwan Valley. The story-screenplay has been adapted for the film by Suresh Nair in collaboration with Chintan Gandhi and Chintan Shah, the latter also writing the dialogues," a source close to the production informed the media outlet. 

The film will be shot over two months starting in July and is expected to wrap by October 2025. "Salman loved the story and will commence his military preparation at the end of May. He has already started physical training for his role at his farmhouse in Panvel,” added the source.

In June 2020, a deadly clash occurred between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh. Twenty Indian soldiers and an unknown number of Chinese troops were killed. The incident marked the worst India-China border conflict in decades, escalating tensions between the two nations.
