Salman Khan Bigg Boss 19 Faces ₹2 Crore Legal Notice:
The 19th season of Bigg Boss, hosted by Salman Khan, has landed in hot water after being accused of using two popular Bollywood songs without permission. Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL) has issued a legal notice to the show’s producers, demanding ₹2 crore in damages and license fees.
According to a report in Mid-Day, the songs in question—Chikni Chameli from Agneepath and Dhat Teri Ki from Gori Tere Pyaar Mein—were used in Episode 11, which aired (or streamed) on September 3, 2025. PPL contends that the producers failed to secure a mandatory public performance licence under Section 30 of the Copyright Act, 1957—a lapse they allege amounts to “willful infringement.”

The legal notice, dated September 19, 2025, reportedly named Endemol Shine India along with its directors Thomas Gousset, Nicolas Chazarain, and Deepak Dhar. On behalf of PPL, advocate Hiten Ajay Wasan has also issued a cease-and-desist directive, demanding that the use of the sound recordings be halted until proper authorization is obtained.
So far, neither the Bigg Boss production house nor streaming platform JioHotstar has publicly responded to the notice. Sources close to the show suggest the promo team at JioHotstar may have handled the song selection for certain segments, which some insiders believe shifts potential responsibility.
