Salman Khan To Appear in Court On Pan Masala Ad Matter:

The Kota District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has ordered a forensic examination of actor Salman Khan’s signatures in connection with a pan masala advertisement case. The matter was filed by advocate Indramohan Singh Honey, who has alleged misleading endorsement and questioned the authenticity of the actor’s consent in the promotional material.

According to the latest development, the consumer court has directed that Salman Khan’s signatures appearing on documents related to the advertisement be sent for forensic verification. The court observed that examining the authenticity of the signatures is necessary to determine whether due legal procedure was followed before the endorsement was issued. This step is expected to clarify whether the actor had formally authorized the use of his name and image in the said pan masala promotion.

In addition to ordering the forensic test, the court has also directed Salman Khan to appear before it on the next date of hearing. The actor has been asked to present relevant documents connected to the advertisement deal. The court has further instructed the notary involved in the authentication of the documents to remain present, indicating that the role of notarization will also be examined during the proceedings.

Advocate Indramohan Singh Honey has maintained that celebrity endorsements carry significant influence and must comply with consumer protection laws. He has argued that endorsers should be held accountable if advertisements are found to be misleading or improperly authorized.

The case is being heard under provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, which aims to safeguard consumer interests and ensure transparency in advertising. With the forensic examination now ordered, the court is expected to take its next decision after reviewing the expert report and hearing all concerned parties.
