Sabyasachi Mukherjee is grinning moonbeams. Reason: his styling of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in ‘Raavan’ has earned him praise from high quarters. “After working with her in two films, we have managed to develop a great equaition,” states Sabya in a newspaper quote.
Besides, the consistent buzz over Ash’s honey gold colour saree and simple regality at Cannes, did put a Cheshire cat grin on the face of the famed attire designer.
Says Sabya in a newspaper quote, “At Cannes, she’s worn her hair in bouffants together with her gowns, so I wanted something very ornate and Indian and with a strong sense of restraint. The middle parting and minimal jewellery helped greatly to accentuate that effect.”
Given a choice, though, he would have liked to raise the style bar even further.
Discloses Sabya, “I would have liked to make her pink glasses; and I’d couple that burgundy lips, with burgundy flowers in her hair. She’d be quite a gothic Frida Kahlo.” Smelling salts, pls!
