Rohit Shetty Breaks Silence On Delhi Violence At The Trailer Launch Of Sooryavanshi

Trailer of the most awaited big budget multi-starrer of the year, Sooryavanshi is finally out, and trailer has blockbuster written all over it. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the third installment of his cop franchise will witness Shetty's all three onscreen cops coming together in this multi-starrer masala entertainer. The film will bring three biggest names of actors from the industry together on the 70mm screens. Today at the grand trailer launch even, after the rocking trailer was unveiled, a press conference took place. While the press conference when a journalist asked about the team's reaction to the recently held violence in the capital, director Rohit Shetty urged all to maintain peace and silence, by understanding the sensitivity of the situation.

Rohit Said, said, "It is a very serious issue and a lot of people are talking about it. The best thing right now for all of us would be to stay silent. Our officials, the government, our people are there... To talk about what's happening there is easy while laughing and doing the event here (in Mumbai), so the best thing right now for the entire India should be to stay silent."

"Everyone's been saying that the chaos is only increasing. If we stay silent, things will fall in place. There's a CM, others are there. Has anyone seen riots? You'll be petrified. I can give a lecture, people will pat my back, but right now we all should stay silent about this for a few days. Let things sort out, then we all can speak,"

Over the past week, the capital has witnessed severe violence in reaction to CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act), which has been passed by the Indian Parliament last December. Northeast Delhi has  witnessed intense violence, reportedly the protestors threw stones at each other, set vehicles and shops on fire. Seven people, including a cop, were killed and nearly 100 were injured in this event. Over 48 police personnel were injured and have been hospitalised. A head constable, Ratan Lal, was among the people killed, several paramilitary and Delhi Police personnel were also injured in this heated incident. A religious place has also been set ablaze at Chandu Nagar in Northeast Delhi, post these incidents, section 144 of the CrPC was imposed in that area, which prohibits assembly of four or more people, in areas affected by violence. The violent protest took place when the US President Donald Trump's visited to India, thus many said, that the blood wrenching protest was staged by a certain section of people to show India in a bad light.

Meanwhile, Sooryavanshi is a high on action film, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, which also has two extended special cameos by Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh. The cop drama is co-produced by Reliance Entertainment, Dharma Production, Rohit Shetty Picturez and Cape Of Good Films, which also stars Jackie Shroff,  Gulshan Grover, Sikander Kher, Abhimanyu Singh and Vivaan Bhatena among others. The film is all set to release on 24th March 2020.
