'Rockstar' Ranbir Insists On Fakhri Voice; Thrashes Dubbing Option?

She's on a great personal footing (ahem) with a certain Ranbir Kapoor. And the talented actor believes that his saucy costar Nargis Fakhri's performance in Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar could well pencil in a National Award, no less. To ensure that her chances are not slashed, the Kapoor scion hit upon a canny plan and put his (starry) foot down.

As per insiders, director Imtiaz Ali had plans of getting Nargis's voice dubbed for Rockstar. Quite akin to having Giselli Monteiro's voice dubbed for Love Aaj Kal, that is. All was fine, until Kapoor got wind of it all.

Reportedly, the Kapoor star who's reportedly "good friends"(ahem, again) with Nargis insisted that her original voice be retained, else she's lose out majorly on the cartloads of awards that he expects her to bag in the wake of Rockstar.

States a close source, "When Ranbir saw her performance in Rockstar he put his foot down, stating that her voice should not be dubbed, else she would lose out on all chances of winning major awards, including a National Award since actors don't win awards for dubbed performances."

Guess, he's merely voicing his concerns…
