Call it a fiery term of comparison. 'Aag', that is. 'Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag' has turned the (un) official meter of screen failure. When Mani Ratnam's 'Raavan' tanked, it was swiftly labelled 'Mani Ratnam Ki Aag'. When 'Kites' refused to soar high, it was called 'Hrithik Ki Aag'. And now, there's a new addition to the unfortunate list: 'Farah Ki Aag.'
Post 'Tees Maar Khan,' Farah Khan's thriller about a con man is being thrashed about in industry circles and the one relishing all the muck is?Ram Gopal Varma.
RGV's acerbic tweets against Farah's flick have buzzed the micro blogging site, though Ramu is swift to defend it all stating he simply forwarded and retweeted stuff he was sent. Reportedly, RGV tweets and sends text messages against Farah's 'TMK' himself?and later shrugs off all blame!
States Ramu in a tabloid chat, "Farah is a friend and I haven't seen 'Tees Maar Khan' to comment on it. The tweets that I have put up comparing 'Tees' to 'RGV Ki Aag' are the forwards that people have been sending me."
Adds Ramu, "Everytime a film flops, people bring out 'RGV Ki Aag' and compare it with my film. Bad reviews handed out by critics are enjoyed more by the film industry people. I really think that my film will be remembered more than 'Sholay' coz' a film like Ramesh Sippy's classic, comes only once in 100 years, while flops like 'Aag' will come every few months. Film people keep saying that we are a family, but are the happiest when someone else's film flops."
