Gadar 2 is smashing records everywhere, but what makes it special is that all the records are coming in a clash, while the records were set by solo releases. Today, Gadar 2 added another chapter to its record book as it became the first Bollywood movie to score 30 crore+ total for 6 consecutive days.
Before Gadar 2, the record was held by Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan, which did 30 crore+ and 35 crore+ for 5 consecutive days before falling to 24 crore nett on the sixth day. In 2016, Salman Khan's Sultan became the first Bollywood film to have a 30 crore+ total for 5 days in a row. The record was unmatched for 7 years, and now it's broken twice in a single year with the help of box office expansion and higher ticket prices. A lot depends on the release date too, especially if it's an extended weekend with holidays besides Sunday. Sultan was an Eid release; Pathaan came on Republic Day weekend; and now Gadar 2 smashed records during the Independence Day weekend.
As per early estimates, Gadar 2 has crossed 30 crore nett on the sixth and is looking to touch 35 crore nett as well. If it does, then it will be a whole new record for the film. Pathaan remains the only film with a 35 crore+ total for 5 consecutive days, and Gadar 2 might beat that too. Let's have a look at the day-wise data of Sultan vs Pathaan vs Gadar 2.Sultan (2016):
