Rasika Dugal, whose performances in web series like Made In Heaven and Delhi Crime are being immensely appreciated, will be next seen sharing screen space with Bollywood veteran Naseeruddin Shah.
The duo has joined forces for a short film and Rasika, who was Naseeruddin Shah’s student at the Film And Television Institute Of India (FTII), is playing his daughter in it. The short will explore a father-daughter relationship and it went on floors on June 16, in Mumbai.
Talking about working with her mentor in the film, Rasika said, “Rasika said, “Naseer Sir had taught me while I was a student at FTII. Anything I know about acting is thanks to him. He is as good a teacher as he is an actor. He drew my attention to some very fundamental things without which my journey as an actor would have been very uninteresting. I will be forever grateful for that knowledge. During the last ten years , I have always kept in mind and put to use what he had shared with me. So he has been more a part of my journey than he knows ! I had been waiting eagerly for an opportunity to work with him. This one is a check on my bucket list.”
A source informed, “Naseeruddin and Rasika’s chemistry as father-daughter is something to look out for in the short film. Both the actors not only enjoyed working on the project together but also bonded well while shooting for it .”
National Award-winning director Kaushal Oza is directing the movie and it is slated to release by the end of 2019.
