'RA.One' Animator Charu Khandal Battles For Life Post Accident

Charu Khandal's name may not necessarily ring bells in your head, but this young animator, who led the team that recently bagged the coveted National Award for Special Effects in RA.One, is presently battling for life in a hospital in Mumbai, after she met with an accident on Monday.

The mishap occurred around 1:00 am on Monday, when Charu was going back to her house in an auto rickshaw along with her sister and a friend. Tragedy struck, when the vehicle in which they were traveling, was hit by a speeding car in suburban Mumbai.

While the rickshaw driver and Charu's sister Ritu suffered minor injuries, the talented animator and her friend Vikrant Goyal have suffered grave injuries and are critical. The driver of the car, who was under the influence of alcohol and was booked for negligent driving, however was soon let off on a bail of Rs.5000.

Doctors treating Charu have declared that she has very low chances of survival and incase she survives, it would take a miracle for the 28-year-old to stand on her feet.
