Ranveer Singh trolled for Mimicking Kantara Scene:
Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is facing a sharp backlash after he recreated the climax of Kantara Chapter 1 on stage — and referred to the film’s sacred “daiva” as a “female ghost”.

At a recent event, with Rishab Shetty present, Ranveer praised the actor’s performance in Kantara — but then imitated the climactic spirit-possession scene, complete with exaggerated facial expressions and a mimicry of the “divine scream.”
The comment that ignited the outrage — calling the daiva a “female ghost” — triggered anger especially among fans from coastal Karnataka, where the film’s culture and folklore are rooted. Many said the act was culturally insensitive and disrespectful to traditions. Some social-media users accused Ranveer of mocking a sacred ritual and described his behavior as “blasphemous.”

Moreover, people were taken aback by the fact that while the imitation drew laughter on stage — even from Rishab Shetty — many felt the gesture trivialized deeply held beliefs associated with folk deities and worship practices. Even Shetty is receiving backslash for enjoying the disrespectful act by the Sooryavanshi actor.

As controversy swells, some have demanded an apology from Ranveer, while others have threatened to boycott his upcoming film Dhurandhar. Will there be any public apology coming from Ranveer, or will it affect his upcoming movie Dhuradhar?
