The actor is set to headline a zombie thriller titled Pralay, marking a fresh and experimental turn in his career. The film is already generating buzz, especially because the makers are keen to reunite him with Alia Bhatt after their successful collaborations in Gully Boy and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani.

As per a report in Mid-Day, Alia Bhatt has been approached to play the female lead in Pralay. Sources close to the development suggest that the role is far from conventional. “The female lead is central to the narrative,” a source revealed, adding that she is “not introduced as a love interest.” Instead, her character challenges the hero’s worldview as the story unfolds in a collapsing, zombie-ridden world.

The makers reportedly feel that Alia Bhatt is the right fit for such a demanding role. “She brings credibility. In a film this experimental, you need powerhouses and actors the audience trusts,” the source further stated. If the casting materialises, Pralay will mark the third on-screen pairing of Ranveer and Alia, a duo that has consistently delivered both critical and commercial success.

While an official announcement is still awaited, Pralay is expected to push boundaries within mainstream Hindi cinema. With zombies as its backdrop and strong characters at its core, the film could offer audiences something truly different, blending scale, performance, and an unconventional genre rarely explored in Bollywood.
