Ram Gopal Varma Makes Short Film Debut With ‘Meri Beti Sunny Leone Banna Chaahti Hai’

Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma seems to be quite enamored with the digital space ever since his last release Sarkar 3 tanked at the box-office.

After venturing into web series with gangster drama Guns And Thighs, RGV made his short film debut with ‘Meri Beti Sunny Leone Banna Chahti Hai starring Makrand Deshpande, Naina Ganguly and Divya Jagdale.

The short film revolves around a young woman (Naina Ganguly), who tells her parents (Makrand Deshpande) and Divya Jagdale that she wants to be a porn star like Sunny Leone and the argument that ensues between the parents and the daughter about her choice of profession. Though the concept is interesting, the jarring music and the loud performances by the actors, ruin the impact of the short film, which could have been interesting had it been treated well.

On the Bollywood front, Varma is gearing up for Arrest, a film about an encounter cop, which will reportedly star Abhishek Bachchan.
