Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi were a hit-making duo in the 90s. Santoshi made his debut as a director in the film Ghayal, which was responsible for giving Deol the image of an action hero. They went on to make two more blockbusters together – Ghatak and Damini. Back in the day, the Santoshi-Deol combo was almost invincible at the box office.

However, this friendship did not stand the test of time. 10 years ago, there was a fall out between the two when they were busy making films on the same subject, Bhagat Singh. Santoshi was working on The Legend of Bhagat Singh whereas Deol was making 23rd March 1931: Shaheed. Sadly, none of the films that released on the same day, managed to deliver at the box office. The last film that Santoshi had worked on, with the Deols was when he launched Sunny's younger brother Bobby Deol in the film Barsaat.

A source claims that the two have patched up since then and are all set to work together after 17 years. "Santoshi and Sunny patched up a couple of years back and ever since, have wanted to work together for a film. Santoshi met Sunny a few days back and narrated an idea to him, which Sunny loved and has given his nod to," added the source.

Santoshi, confirming the news said, "We have met and are working out a film. But it is too premature to say anything at the moment. Sunny has liked the script but that is one part and I have to get everything else in place and the formalities still remain. Everything will be clear in a couple of weeks before I make any announcement."
