Actor R. Madhavan has revealed that the buzz around Dhurandhar 2 has reached such a level that fans from Dubai are planning trips to India just to watch the film in theatres. The sequel, directed by Aditya Dhar, is scheduled to release on March 19, 2026.

Speaking in a recent interview with Sonia Shenoy, Madhavan shared that the earlier film Dhurandhar did not release in several Gulf countries, including the UAE. Despite the restriction, the movie built massive curiosity among overseas audiences. He noted that some viewers even flew to India for a day to watch the film and then returned home, calling it the “power of good content.”

The actor further said the trend may continue with the sequel. According to him, many fans in Dubai are planning their business trips around the film’s release date so they can catch it on the big screen in India. Madhavan emphasized that while viewers could easily watch films online, many still prefer the collective theatrical experience, which he believes gives cinema its true magic.

The Dhurandhar franchise has emerged as one of the most talked-about spy action series in recent times. The first instalment, which released in December 2025, performed strongly at the box office despite facing bans in parts of the Gulf region.

With anticipation already high and overseas curiosity growing, Dhurandhar 2 appears poised for a strong theatrical response when it hits cinemas next month.
