publive-imageIn a recent interview, Priyanka Chopra-Jonas spoke explosively about why she left Bollywood and India. The comments have caused quite a stir on the Internet, and people's reactions are divided into two different zones. Some are supporting the Desi Girl for speaking up, while others are trolling her for speaking up now after keeping quiet for years.

The actress, who was present today for a Citadel press conference in Mumbai, finally broke her silence on the matter. When asked why she spoke about her past experiences so late, Priyanka replied, "I think, first of all, when I was on the podcast I was asked about the journey of my life. And, I spoke about when I was young when I was 10, 15, 22, 30, 40 or whatever, So I was talking about the truth of my journey and now because I was confident enough to talk about that phase of my life."publive-imageShe further added, "I think now where I am… I was okay enough to kind of articulate what I felt. I had a very tumultuous relationship with…what occurred, I forgave, moved on a long time ago and then I made my peace with it. I think that's why it was easy for me to talk about it in an open manner in a safe space,"publive-image

The comments that made so much stir in the news were as follows: "I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break. This music thing gave me an opportunity to go into another part of the world, not crave for the movies I didn’t want to get but I would require to schmooze certain clubs and cliques of people. It would require groveling and I had worked a long time by then that I didn’t feel like I wanted to do it".
