Priyanka Chopra Jonas About 6 Flops In A Year:

Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently opened up about one of the toughest phases of her career — a period during which she saw six consecutive films fail. Speaking at the Bridge Media Summit in Abu Dhabi, she revealed how that rough patch forced her to constantly “pivot” and fight for survival rather than follow any grand plan.

Recalling the struggle, she said, “There were phases where one year I did six movies and all six tanked.” As someone without a film-industry background, not a “nepo baby”, she admitted the situation was terrifying. She didn’t have the safety net that supports many star kids; failure meant real uncertainty.

At the time, refusing work wasn’t an option for her. She accepted every role offered, even if it meant missing important personal milestones. “When I started, you didn’t have the privilege to say no,” she recalled. The constant pressure and fear of career collapse led her to explore new avenues within the film world.

Eventually, this phase of setbacks prompted her to reinvent herself. She ventured into production and made more deliberate choices about the projects she took on. Her turning point came with the film Fashion — the movie that changed the course of her career and established her credibility as a serious actor.

Looking back, Chopra said she’s grateful for the hardship because it taught her resilience, helped her carve her own path, and eventually gave her the freedom to pick roles with intention. Chopra is currently working in SS Rajamouli's big budget action drama, Varanasi, also featuring Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the leading roles. She is also rumoured to be working in Kalki 2898 AD sequel, but the the rumours don't have any base at the moment.
