Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, 11th September, took to Twitter to praise and support the team of Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan starrer ‘Coolie No 1’, for their “superb gesture” of going plastic free on their film’s set. PM Modi further stated, that he is happy to see the film industry contributing towards freeing India from single-use plastic. Modi got impressed by the team’s noble initiative and Retweeted Varun Dhawan’s Tweet, to applaud the team and wrote,

Recently Varun Dhawan shared a picture of team ‘Coolie No 1’ posing with their steel sippers, from the set to announce the team’s noble initiative to go plastic free and wrote,
“Being a plastic-free nation is the need of the hour and great initiative taken by our prime minister and we can all do this by making small changes. The sets of #CoolieNo1 will now only use steel bottles. @PMOIndia”

'Coolie No 1’ is the first Bollywood film to go plastic free on a film’s set. This sequel is bankrolled by Vashu Bhagnani, who also helmed the original film. The film also stars Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and Johny Lever in pivotal roles, which is slated to release on 1st May 2020.
